Uncoloured copper engraving. 'Engraved for the Modern British Traveller'. Anonymously made and undated, but published c. 1779.
Image size: 195 x 300 approx. plus borders all round.
Generally good condition, pleasantly age-toned overall.
A view taken from the approximate position of the mouth of the Creek looking eastward towards the town of Greenwich. There are a variety of ships and boats in the foreground. The Hospital complex (home then to veteran sailors of the Royal Navy) is seen in the mid-distance; St Alfege church is to the right-hand; the Greenwich Observatory in the distance.
