In generally good condition overall; colour good and bright; splits at top and bottom central fold repaired and reinforced with acid-free tape; some evidence of staining due to old glue used in tipping-in. Trimmed rather severely at left and right borders.
The full title reads: 'A NEW MAP of TURKEY in ASIA by Monsr. d'Anville, First Geographer to the most Christian King with Several Additions'. The map shows the regions of the eastern Mediterranean; the Black Sea to the north, Kurdistan to the east and Cyprus and Palestine just west of centre. The main habitations, mountain ranges and river are shown as well, for instance, 'The Route of the Caravan through the Desert'. Sold 'with all faults', as per the description.
