A vue d'optique depicting a panoramic view of the Thames and the City of London. A fine composition with an accomplished sense of aerial perspective and a pleasing sweep of the north bank of the Thames. The architecture of the city is delineated in detail with St Paul's dominating and the skyline punctuated by church spires. In the distance there is a last glimpse of the full splendour of old London Bridge with the houses upon it, which were demolished between 1758 and 1762.
Mounted and framed.
