Shows in good clear detail the areas of St. James', Westminster and Millbank (with a particularly striking Penitentiary) on the north side of the Thames, and Waterloo, Bermondsey, Kennington and Walworth to the south.
George Washington Bacon (1830-1922) was a London based book and map publisher throughout the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth century when the firm was amalgamated into the Scottish house of W. & A.K. Johnston.
