This pictorial map, dedicated to Field Marshal the Rt. Hon. Jan Christaan Smuts, is one of 'The Countryman County Maps of Britain', published in the post-war years celebrating each county's contribution to the war effort. The produce of the county is proudly marked on the map. This example includes vignettes of Ely and King's College Chapel, and a quote from Winston Churchill emphasising the importance of the collective effort in combating "the dark curse of Hitler":  "This is no war of chieftains or of princes, of dynasties or national ambition; it is a War of peoples and causes."
