Copper engraving with original hand colour; drawn, engraved and published by John Andrews, January 15th 1798, as Plate XVII of John Stockdale's, Geographical Atlas of England, 1809.

Image size: 13 1/8" x 10 1/8" plus generous borders.

Generally good condition throughout.

This map shows England and Wales on a grid with the prime meridian centered upon St Pauls, London. Thus, the Royal Observatory, Greenwich is marked as Lat. 51.28.40. Long. 0.5.37. - and so it remained until 1884. Scarce.
