A Map of the Country Ten Miles Round London
Copper engraving with later hand colour, from Youth's New Picture of London published by E. Lacey, 76 St Pauls, London, circa 1834.
Image size: 3 7/8" diameter plus title.
Generally good condition with some spotting to margins.
An attractive early nineteenth century miniature map of the environs of London. The extent shown is Enfield-Croydon, Barking Levels-Hanwell. The border contains a key indicating the Rivers, Canals, Mail Coach Roads, Bye Roads, Parks and Gentleman's Seats, and states that "The Figures on the Roads denotes the distance in Miles each Place is from London, thus Brentford 7." A scarce item.
