Negroland and Guinea

Copper engraving with original outline colour, dated 1728, drawn and published by Hermann Moll as part of his Atlas Minor, or a New and Curious Set of Sixty-Two Maps ... Agreeable to Modern History, 1729.

Image size: 8 3/4" x 11" approx., plus borders.

Generally good condition throughout, a firm impression with clear colouring. Very slight staining to left-hand quarter.

Shows the main habitations, mostly along the rivers and coastline. Also shows the European settlements along the coast, denoting which belong to England, Holland and Denmark respectively. In modern day terms this maps stretches from Mauritania to Cameroon.
