Horse brass in the form of a wheatsheaf set in a figure of eight-shaped border. Cast brass. Undated, but circa 1900-1950.

Good, generally unscathed condition.
Horse brasses were used for the decoration of horse harness gear, especially for shire and parade horses. They became especially popular in England from the mid-19th century until their general decline alongside the use of the heavy horse, but remain a collectors item today.
