Royal Greenwich a guide and history to London's most historic borough
Olive and Nigel Hamilton, foreword by Sir Arthur Bryant.
Published by The Greenwich Bookshop, 37 King William Walk, 1969.
267pp. White cloth boards decorated with illustrations by John Bratby. No dust wrapper, as issued.
Generally very good condition throughout. Boards slightly marked, as usual.
The first proper combined guide and history to Greenwich since Henry Richardson's Guide to Greenwich in 1834. Well-illustrated with historical illustrations drawn from archives, galleries and collections throughout Britain, and photographs by Stanley Devon and Elizabeth Lewis. With its pleasingly sixties layout, the Hamiltons' book is now a period piece in its own right.
